Frequently asked questions

Planning a memorable event and considering the incredible Millennium party band? We understand you may have some questions, so here's a quick guide to help you get all the information you need!

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you provide all your own equipment?

Yes, all we need is a clear area to set up in with a power supply.

Will you be able to do my first dance?

If given enough notice, yes. It takes a while for us to learn and rehearse a song to our usual high standards. We prefer at least 8 weeks notice. The song will also need to be suitable for a band to play live, sometimes this isn’t the case but if we feel that we can’t do the song suitably enough for your big day we will let you know up front and then we can play the record over the sound system and continue seamlessly into our live set afterwards.

What do you wear?

As standard we will dress 'smart casual’ with shirt, trousers and shoes as an example. We are however happy take direction based on the events dress code and dress either smarter or more casual depending on your requirements.

Are you insured?

Yes. A majority of venues require PLI (Public Liability Insurance) and PAT (Portable Appliance Testing) certificates. If you venue has specific requirements or would like to see the certificate's then please pass them our contact details and we can liaise directly.

Can you work with sound limiters?

Yes. We understand that certain venues have restrictions that the live entertainment licence is subject to. We do like to know in advance so we can plan accordingly so where possible if you could let us know that would be great. We endeavour to check with the venue also.

Can a guest join you for a song?

We play lots of gigs where there’s a budding singer in the crowd or someone who would love to sing with a live band. In most cases this is fine, so long as you are okay with it of course! We just like to make sure that whoever wants to ‘join in’ isn’t too ‘under the influence’ to ensure we minimise the risk of any damage to equipment.

What happens if one of the band is ill on the day of my event?

Thankfully we haven’t missed a gig yet! But if there is an issue with a band member being ill we work with various musician's who can step in at short notice to cover the event. We also have a network of other bands that we know and have met over the years and could seek a replacement band if you wish.

How loud will you be?

We like to be loud enough to create a good atmosphere for your event. A reasonable volume is required to ensure we get everyone up on the dance floor to dance the night away. The volume is down to your discretion so don’t feel that you can’t have a discussion with us on the night, provided we can hear you :)

How much do you charge?

There are many variables that will determine the rate we charge for your event. Things such as distance, duration, day of the week, time of day are all factors. All of the enquiries we get are treated with no obligation and we will provide a quote based on your event specifics for you to chew over before closing whether or not to commit.

How long do you perform for?

As standard we provide 2 x 60 minute sets or 3 x 40 minute sets as required on the night usually playing until a latest time of midnight. We can play past midnight if requested but this will incur an additional fee and will need to be discussed in advance. With regards to timings on the day/night we are very flexible and can play music over the sound system via a playlist during any breaks the band have.

How long do you take to set up?

We usually require 1 hour (minimum) to set up and soundcheck. With weddings we often find there is a ‘best time’ to set up after the wedding breakfast and before evening guests arrive, meaning we don’t cause an disruption or noise during the most important parts of your big day. We can discuss this when running through your requirements.

Will we need to feed you?

This will typically depend on timings. Any offer of hot food will be greatly appreciated but this doesn’t have to be anything fancy. We can of course come prepared if necessary.

How far will you travel?

Distance is no problem and we are happy to cover the whole of the UK (and would consider any events overseas). Of course we need to factor in our safety regarding driving hours etc so some cases may require overnight stays. This may result in an additional fee but will be discussed at the time of the enquiry so you can make a decision knowing the total fee for the band and any additional items.

How many songs can the band learn for my event?

We are often asked to learn a song for the first dance and more commonly now also a father and daughter dance. As mentioned above in the FAQ’s we prefer at least 8 weeks notice for this. The song/s will also need to be suitable for a band to play live, sometimes this isn’t the case but if we feel that we can’t do the song suitably enough for your big day we will let you know up front and then we can play the record over the sound system and continue seamlessly into our live set afterwards.
